Enjoy making your very own glitter slime!

Before you start with your experiment, please ask an adult for help and supervision.

You will need:

• 1 gr Borax from your pharmacist
• 1 gr carob bean gum from a health food store (e.g. Reformhaus)
• kitchen scales
• water and two small mixing bowls
• a pot
• food colouring (optional)
• glitter
• a plastic box with lid to put your slime in

Get your kitchen scales and the mixing bowls. Carefully weigh 0.6 gr Borax and dissolve it in 100 ml water in one of the mixing bowls. Then weigh 0.7 gr carob gum and dissolve it in 50 ml water in the other bowl.

Slowly heat the 50 ml carob gum-water solution. Stir constantly until it thickens. Add 15 ml of your Borax-water-solution. Stir a little more until you get a lovely slimy texture.

Have you got some food colouring at hand? Why not dye your slime with your favorite colour - a few drops will be enough. And don't forget to add glitter for a super-glittery-slimy result!
