Organisation

The PhD comittee of each Leibniz Graduate School scholar consists of 3 principal investigators (PIs). The first PI is the primary advisor, responsible for the research project of the scholar. At least two members of the PhD committee have to be as well members of the Leibniz Graduate School. At least one member of the PhD committee has to be a member of a local university (Charité, Freie Universität, Humboldt-Universität or Universität Potsdam) where the doctoral degree is aspired.

The members of the PhD committee survey the progress of the PhD thesis. Each scholar of the Leibniz Graduate School has to present an annual progress report to the chosen PhD committee. The PhD committee has to consult the scholars in order to achieve a successful and fast completion of the thesis.
